Bose is discontinuing cloud support for all products using the SoundTouch platform, with the switch-off set for February 18, 2026.

If you have a SoundTouch speaker, it’ll continue working as normal until that date, but after you’ll lose access to things like Spotify and TuneIn, as well as multi-room playback.

However, if your device supports Bluetooth, AUX, or HDMI, you’ll still be able to enjoy listening to music and podcasts through your connected devices – although Bose cannot “guarantee long-term performance” according to a Q&A.

Mark your calendar

Standalone speakers like the SoundTouch 10, 20 Series III and 30 Series III should still play from a phone or TV over Bluetooth or inputs, and SoundTouch-enabled home theater gear such as the Lifestyle 650 or SoundTouch 300 should keep working over HDMI or optical. Bose also says any product usage data tied to SoundTouch will be deleted by February 25, 2026, and there is no replacement app planned.

Bose first introduced the SoundTouch line in 2013, but according to a Q&A, Bose is no longer able to “sustain the development and support of the cloud infrastructure that powers this older generation of products.”

As you can imagine, the news hasn’t gone down well – with hundreds of Redditors complaining. There are requests for a rethink, for dev kits and even a petition.

For now, Bose isn’t changing its mind.
