ByteDance’s Volcano Engine — the company’s cloud and AI services platform — has begun recruiting a senior expert in embodied intelligence to lead humanoid robot development, offering a monthly salary of RMB 95,000–120,000 (US$13,100–16,500), Sina Tech reported. The role involves research on operation algorithms, large model pretraining, and hardware integration for humanoid robots.

The hiring marks ByteDance’s strongest move yet into the humanoid robotics field, expanding from logistics robots to general-purpose, interactive systems. It also follows the company’s recent partnership with Huawei-backed Seres Group to explore humanoid robot production and applications. [Sina Tech, in Chinese]
