The Directorate General of Digital Services of the European Commission ha selected to a consortium of companies formed by Capgemini, Airbus Protect, PwC and Nviso for the provision of comprehensive cybersecurity services to public institutions throughout the European Union.

The framework contract that establishes the cybersecurity services that these companies will provide, the MC17 FREIA Cyber Framework, has a duration of four years, and the members of the consortium will be in charge of strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and protecting the critical digital infrastructures of 71 European institutions, organizations and agencies.

The group has been chosen for the three lots offered by the EU related to online protection, which reinforces the combined strength of the consortium companies in providing services throughout the cybersecurity value chain.

The consortium’s mission will be to support Europe’s cyber resilience and digital sovereignty. To do this, it will focus on the areas of operations and incident response, governance and risk management, and training and technical knowledge.

The approach it will employ will support the NIS2 directive, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the EU Cybersecurity Act and the Cyber Resilience Act. The services it will provide will help the various EU institutions to improve their resilience and address digital threats, as well as drive long-term digital transformation.

According to Marc Reinhardt, Global Public Sector Director at Capgeminione of the companies that are part of the consortium that the EU has chosen to be in charge of its protection, «the Awarding the three lots to our consortium underlines the European Commission’s confidence in our ability to deliver complex, large-scale cybersecurity programs. This reflects not only our technical expertise, but also our commitment to supporting the European vision of digital sovereignty and institutional resilience. By combining strategic foresight with operational agility, we will help European institutions confront today’s threats and prepare for the challenges of the future.”
