HOLIDAYMAKERS can snap up the cheapest hotel prices thanks to a clever new trick from Google.
You can now bag massive deals that you’d otherwise totally miss.

It’s thanks to a new price-tracking feature for hotels that alerts you to big discounts.
All you need to plug in your dates and destination, and you’ll get an email when there’s a big price cut.
Google Flights already offers a similar feature – but you can now do it for hotels too.
“Summer break will be here before you know it,” said Google’s Molly McHugh-Johnson.
“So this is the time to start thinking about your next vacation.”
The feature works using the google.com/hotels page.
Go to it and then tap in your chosen dates and destination.
A new toggle should appear that lets you track the prices for that specific holiday.
Then if a hotel that would’ve appeared in the search has a big price cut, you’ll get a notification.
Google says it’ll flag “substantial” changes in price – rather than notifying you about a couple of pence off.
Importantly, Google’s hotel tracker will take in your other search filters too.
So consider adding “beach access” on the filters if you really want to upgrade your holiday.
It’ll also work with price ranges and minimum star ratings that you’ve set.
And if you want it to monitor an entire chunk of a map rather than a specific destination, that’s an option too.

Don’t panic if you don’t see the feature right away. Google says it’s launching “globally this week” – so it should appear for you in the next few days.
It’ll be available on in web browsers on both mobile and desktop.
OTHER GOOGLE HOLIDAY TRICK
That’s not the only holiday trick that you should be trying out.
Earlier this year, The Sun revealed how to use Google’s AI helper as a tour guide.
TRACK FLIGHT DEALS TOO!

You can also track prices on flights with Google…
Just go to Google Flights on a web browser.
Now select the number of stops, cabin class, and how many tickets that you need.
Next choose a departure airport and destination.
Then simply hit the Track Prices toggle to get alerts on pricing for the flight.
You can also set Any Dates if your travel is flexible.
It’s also possible to pick a specific flight and then turn on Track Prices for that journey only.
“When you track ‘Any dates’, you get an email when the route’s minimum price drops significantly over a month,” Google explained.
“If there isn’t a large enough price drop, you get a regular email with the best available flight prices.”

The Gemini assistant lets you have out-loud voice conversations.
So you can ask it to work as a tour guide, giving you the history of whatever you’re looking at.
And you can ask questions along the way, just like you would with a real person.
You can even send Gemini photos to find out more info, or chat to it as part of a group.

Gemini can also translate foreign-language signs, and doesn’t cost a penny to use.
It’s out on both Android and iPhone, and only takes a few seconds to set up.
So try it out next time you’re on holiday – especially if that tour you wanted was fully booked.
