Qualcomm launched its new Snapdragon X CPUs in India offering support for Artificial Intelligence. It is equipped with Qualcomm Hexagon NPU up to 45TOPS along with 30MB Cache, up to 2.97GHz, 8 cores, and 8 Threads. It is the company’s 4th platform to join the Snapdragon X Series.

In an exclusive interview with Techlusive’s Editor Dinesh Sharma, Qualcomm’s  Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President & General Manager shared the company’s vision towards the Indian market and how they are now entering the laptop segment that is powered by the latest Snapdragon X.

“We’re very focused in terms of all the platforms that were able to launch. So just within the last 6 to 7 months since June of 2024 we’ve been able to launch the Snapdragon X elite, about a quarter later we’ve been able to launch the Snapdragon X+ and most recently in January we launched the Snapdragon X,” says Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Compute and Gaming, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

He further explain how Qualcomm is focusing on Indian market and says “India is one of the leading countries to already adopt gen AI in fact most consumers today are already well aware of what exactly they could do with Gen Ai and they’ve embraced simple things like LLMS today more than many other countries in the world. Where we headed as Qualcomm across the entire lineup of our products across the X Elite the X+ and the X all of these have the exact same neural processor and have the exact same memory bandwidth which is what is very important when it comes to generative AI so the BET word taking obviously is very strong because we believe the market is headed there more recently. In fact as of last week we were committed to India and we just launched a Snapdragon experience Zone with in partnership with chroma and we had the first experience Zone launched at the chroma store in Mumbai.”

The latest unveiled Snapdragon X platform comes with LPDDR5x, 8448 MT/s Transfer Rate, Up to 64 GB Capacity, 135 GB/s Bandwidth, and 16-bit Bit Width, 8 Channels. The processor supports Adreno DPU, eDP v1.4b, up to QHD+120 Hz, HDR10 On-Device Display Resolution, DP v1.4-3 displays, up to UHD60 Hz HDR10, 2 displays up to 5K60 or UHD120 External Display Resolution.

As far as camera supports are concerned, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X platform hold up Qualcomm Spectra ISP, Up to 36 MP Single Camera,  and 4K HDR video capture. For audios it has Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology and Qualcomm aptX Audio.

Asus unveiled its two laptops powered by latest Snapdragon X platform. The laptops are Asus Zenbook A14 and Vivobook 16. The launch of both the laptops will take place on 10th March, buy buyers can pre-order the from Amazon, Flipkart, and official website.
