Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have become one of the most talked-about products over the past couple of years. Now, Ray-Ban seems to be expanding its product portfolio and bringing it to India, along with other countries like Mexico and the UAE. This will give more users access to this stylish and hands-free AI technology.
The glasses were originally launched in September 2023 in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, and the next-gen Ray-Ban Meta glasses are a major leap forward. These new glasses have more enhanced capabilities that let you ask questions, capture content, stream music, and stay connected without the need for your smartphone.
New Styles With The Same Smart Core
The Meta glasses are launching this summer, and it seems like the perfect time for a fresh upgrade with the new Skyler frames and lens combos. The updated frames come in two new colours: Shiny Chalky Gray with Transitions Sapphire lenses, and Shiny Black with G15 Green or Clear lenses.
These glasses are designed for everyday wear, making it easy to stay present while capturing moments or vibing to your favourite playlists.
Most Awaited Upgrade for Meta Glasses
The built-in Meta AI assistant is also getting smarter with the much-hyped live translation feature. Previously restricted, it has now started rolling out to all supported markets. Once activated, the AI assistant will translate real-time conversations across English, French, Italian, and Spanish. This feature even works offline, as long as the language packs are pre-downloaded.
To use it, the user simply needs to say, “Hey Meta, start live translation,” and your glasses will do the rest. One person hears translated audio, while the other sees a transcript on their phone. This makes travelling and navigating new places easier, especially if you’re in a location where the language isn’t one you speak, effectively eliminating language barriers.
The new upgrade also enhances the powers of Meta AI, as it will soon allow users to send DMs, audio messages, and even hop on Instagram video calls, all from their glasses. This adds to the existing support for WhatsApp, Messenger, and native SMS apps.
If you’re someone who loves vibing to playlists but doesn’t like putting earphones in for long sessions, then you’ll love that Meta is expanding music support beyond the US and Canada. Now, if your language is set to English, you can stream your music via Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, or Shazam, and you can also ask Meta for the name of the song that just played.
Another exciting upcoming feature is Meta’s new vision-based AI assistant. This makes your glasses feel futuristic, as it can continuously see what you’re seeing and respond naturally to your questions. Think of it almost like Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S., acting as a real-time smart coach for whatever life throws at you. To activate it, the user simply needs to say, “Hey Meta, start live AI.”
While the official launch date for Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India remains unknown, Meta has confirmed that the glasses will be available soon. Fans can expect an official announcement from the company in the near future. With smarter and more connected wearables gaining popularity, this news is certainly exciting for the Indian market.
