THE Kansas City Chiefs have sent a farewell message to a Super Bowl hero who left the team.
The team confirmed one of their locker room leaders has moved on in free agency.

Mecole Hardman, 27, left to join the Green Bay Packers during free agency.
He signed a one-year deal worth $1.5 million to make the move from Arrowhead Stadium.
And the Chiefs paid tribute to him with a touching message on X.
“Forever a champion, thank you,” they wrote.
Hardman was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
He briefly left for the New York Jets in 2023 before asking to be traded.
The Chiefs answered his prayers and brought him back, giving up a seventh-round pick in the process.
Hardman has won three Super Bowls with Kansas City.
He was named to the Pro Bowl in his rookie year 2019.
But his defining moment came in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hardman caught the pass from Patrick Mahomes which won the game.
He held onto the pass in overtime to beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22.
He played 12 times during the 2024 season, catching just 12 passes for 90 yards with no touchdowns.
His only touchdown in 2024 came on a running play against the 49ers in October.
Hardman is also a kick return specialist.

He joins a receiver group in Green Bay that includes Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks.
In his rookie year in 2019 he was named to the Pro Bowl as a kick returner.
Kansas City has been busy reshaping it’s roster for a run at another Super Bowl.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has signed a new contract to stay with the team.
