On Wednesday, it was reported by CBS Sports that the Baltimore Ravens hired Chiefs safeties coach Donald D’Alesio as their defensive backs coach.

D’Alesio worked with the Chiefs for four seasons, three of them as a safeties coach.

During his first season, he was a defensive analyst for head coach Andy Reid in 2021.

D’Alesio worked with safeties Justin Reid and Bryan Cook, who recorded an interception in the Super Bowl 59 loss.

He will now coach first-team All-Pros in safety Kyle Hamilton and cornerback Marlon Humphrey in Baltimore.

D’Alesio began his coaching career path with his alma mater, working on the Youngstown State football coaching staff from 2015 to 2019.

During that span, he was a defensive quality control coach, a defensive line coach, and a defensive coordinator.

D’Alesio then worked as a defensive analyst at LSU in 2020 before he transitioned to the NFL.

He won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are also set to lose numerous players from their AFC Champion team.

Kansas City has 20 players set to become unrestricted free agents when the new league year begins next month.

Among the players are offensive lineman Trey Smith, wide receiver Marquise Brown, linebacker Nick Bolton, defensive lineman Charles Owenihu, and safety Justin Reid.

The Chiefs could also lose Travis Kelce, who has yet to decide on whether he will retire from the sport.

Still, Kansas City will look towards the 2025 season.

They did sign 11 players to contract.
