Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor has started supplying battery packs that integrate battery cells from CATL to several commercial carmakers, as the two companies team up to explore a growing segment of the EV market, people with knowledge of the matter told Chinese media outlet 36Kr. Zhejiang Lingxiao Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang-based Leapmotor, has reached deals with five companies, sources said without revealing details. Just 22% of the 2.1 million commercial vehicles sold were electrified during the first half of 2025, compared with the penetration rate of 50.4% secured in the passenger car market over the period, according to figures published by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
