China’s top tech firms are racing to secure AI talent from the class of 2026. ByteDance and Alibaba have launched their fall campus recruitment drives, offering over 5,000 and 7,000 positions respectively, many centered on AI and engineering. ByteDance is scaling up from last year’s 4,000 offers, with a 23% increase in R&D hiring, especially for algorithm, frontend, and client-side roles. TikTok’s China twin Douyin, e-commerce firms, Feishu, CapCut, and Volcano Engine are all hiring. At Alibaba, over 60% of 7,000 openings are AI-focused, with units including Alibaba Cloud, Dingtalk, and Gaode Maps nearing 80%. Subsidiaries such as AliExpress and http://Ele.meEle.me> are also offering AI-heavy positions. New hires should expect to work on digital avatars, embodied AI, and medical agents among other projects. With China facing a shortage of 4 million AI experts by 2030, according to McKinsey’s prediction, tech giants are moving fast to secure future engineers. [Jiemian, in Chinese]
