Developed by Shanghai-based UltiZero Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Chinese ARPG (Action Role-Playing Game) Lost Soul Aside was released on Friday for PS5, PS4, and PC, priced from RMB 268 ($37) in China. Built on Unreal Engine 4 with RTX ray tracing, the game presents an open world blending science fiction and swordplay. Players take control of Kazer, a symbiont protagonist, engaging in fast-paced combos and weapon upgrades to battle alien creatures. Although the game reached a peak of over 3,070 concurrent players on Steam on launch day, technical issues sparked controversy. Some users reported locked frame rates during the opening cinematic, the inability to remap controller buttons, and account-binding failures. Steam’s first-day reviews were rated “mostly negative.” [TechNode reporting]
