The company Epilogue is working on software to transform the Game Boy Camera into a webcam for computers. Normally, the old camera can only take monochrome photos with a resolution of 128×128 pixels.
Epilogue has got a video feed working under macOS and is working on a release of the Camera Viewer for his device GB Operator. This hardware for connecting Game Boy games and accessories to computers also works with the Game Boy Camera, so far for transferring photos.
The images are also monochrome and have a resolution of 16 kilopixels, as can be seen from the company’s example. It is unknown when the software will be released. The Game Boy Camera was released in 1998 and was in production until 2002. More tinkerers were already working with the old digital camera.
