A LONGTIME member at Costco has advised fellow shoppers to look out for three items for their kitchens.
Each is essential to cooking up great-tasting meals at home, and they’re offered at an affordable price point.

In fact, one of the go-to products on the list is cheaper than supermarket chains like Aldi, known for discounted prices.
First noted by the Costco member was King Arthur All Purpose Unbleached Flour, per a thread on Reddit this month.
The 12-pound bag goes for just $11.10, depending on which one of Costco’s over 600 warehouses nationwide shoppers find it at.
The King Arthur Unbleached Bread Flour in a 10-pound bag is also only $9.35, again depending on location.
Second on the kitchen must-haves list was Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter in a four-pack of eight-ounce bars.
Some Costco locations offer it for $16.29, or $4.07 per bar.
SWEET SAVINGS
Last in the kitchen essential trio at Costco were liquid sweeteners, like vanilla extract or vanilla paste.
A 16-ounce bottle of Pure Vanilla Extract from the warehouse retailer is $13.99 at some stores.
Stonemill Pure Vanilla Extract at Aldi is $5.49 for a two-ounce bottle.
Costco customers would get far more bang for their buck with the 16-ounce bottle.
Some other members in the Reddit thread also pointed out other “hidden gems” at Costco that are worth the price.
“Kirkland vanilla ice cream is actually very good ice cream,” a consumer wrote.
Kirkland Signature is Costco’s private label, which has been making a variety of merchandise sold at the retailer since the 1990s.
“I bought socks at Costco, and am extremely pleased,” another added.
Costco membership sharing guidelines
Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they’ve been cracking down on offenders in recent years.
- Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
- Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
- Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

“Kirkland Prosecco. It’s the best we have ever drank and much cheaper than the name brand,” a third said.
DIAPER DEBACLE
Several Kirkland products have received the stamp of approval in recent years, but a change to one recently caused controversy.
It happened after a longstanding partnership between Costco and Kimberly-Clark, the maker of Huggies diapers, ended.
Kimberly-Clark CEO Mike Hsu confirmed the move in an October earnings call, with the brand focusing more on its own premium products and stepping away from manufacturing the Kirkland Signature diapers.
Costco later signed an agreement with personal care product company First Quality to continue the Kirkland Signature diaper line, but some mothers like TikToker Mel (@lifewithh_mel), who bought the updated version, were not impressed.
“This is really upsetting — right away I can tell the difference,” Mel fumed while holding the old and new versions side by side in a video.
“I think I’m going to return these.”
Costco did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
