Tel Aviv, Israel, July 25th, 2025/Chainwire/–Privacy-focused Layer 2 COTI has launched a monthly DeCC (Decentralized Confidential Computing) space to unite web3 projects exploring onchain privacy implementations. The virtual events bring together developers and teams working on solutions designed to provide greater privacy protection for enterprises and consumers transacting onchain.

The first DeCC event, hosted as an X Spaces event on July 22 in collaboration with Secret Network, was themed around the prospect of an impending Privacy Summer and what this emerging narrative means for web3 users.

The hangout, which attracted thousands of listeners, included guests from Midnight Network (a new zero-knowledge smart contract blockchain focused on enhancing privacy for its users) and Ten Protocol, whose team is working on a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for EVM, supporting the creation of encrypted applications for everything from AI agents to prediction markets.

During the course of the first X Spaces event, members of COTI and assorted guests discussed Privacy 1.0 vs Privacy 2.0, comparing the first wave of privacy protocols that were regulatory unfriendly and thus incompatible with mainstream adoption.

This was compared with the second wave of privacy solutions designed to balance the need for onchain privacy with the ability to disclose information with specific parties, such as for compliance purposes.

Speakers who gave their insights included guests from Secret Network, Midnight Network, Ten Protocol, Mind Network, Soda Labs, Rena Labs, Ethernity, and others.

During the event, COTI CEO Shahaf Bar-Geffen commented: “Without privacy, public blockchains can’t support serious use-cases,” adding that, “Privacy 2.0 is not about secrecy: it’s about identity, safety, and scalability. It’s compliant by design.”

The guests also discussed the role that privacy will play in driving global adoption of blockchain. Shahaf Bar-Geffen predicted:

“This is the moment at which privacy breaks through, ushering in the Privacy Summer we have all been waiting for. Privacy tech has been maturing for years, but it’s been slow, complex, and misunderstood – that era is over.”

COTI intends to continue hosting monthly DeCC events that will highlight the work being done by teams across the omnichain landscape to enhance access to privacy for consumers and institutions alike.

In addition to spotlighting the need for onchain privacy, the events are designed to unite teams working on privacy implementations and foster a spirit of collaboration.

In the process, the hangouts will help inform crypto users of the privacy solutions available to them and the ways in which they can utilize these to protect sensitive data.

COTI is on a mission to democratize access to privacy tools, with its privacy layer powered by Garbled Circuits and developed in collaboration with Soda Labs.

Engineered to meet enterprise-scale demands, it features programmable privacy features that allow users to mask specific transactions. The technology can be implemented on both EVM and non-EVM chains, supporting a host of DeFi and web3 applications.

Through its ongoing DeCC events, COTI hopes to normalize blockchain privacy and showcase the ways it can be harnessed to protect everything from proprietary trading algorithms to personal data such as wallet balances.

These efforts will serve to further legitimize privacy and move the industry closer to realizing a Privacy Summer that will see the technology become deeply embedded into dApps, wallets, and DeFi protocols.
