I’ve become really fond of augmented reality (AR) video smart glasses since I started covering them years ago. I use them almost every day as a personal computer monitor when I’m working away from my desk (or just want to watch a movie), and the Viture Pro has stood as one of my favorite pairs of the last year. I gave it four stars and an Editors’ Choice award when I reviewed it last May, and it remains one of the brightest pairs of smart glasses you can get.

Right now, the Viture Pro is on sale for Prime Day at a huge 30% off. You can grab a pair for just $350, down from $500. If you’re interested in AR smart glasses, this deal is definitely worth a look.

The Viture Pro uses micro-OLED projectors and prism lenses to beam a big, colorful 1080p picture into your eyes. It works with any device that can output DisplayPort over USB-C, which covers most major Android smartphones, all iPhones since the iPhone 15, all iPads with USB-C ports, and nearly all PCs and Macs. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, which is significantly brighter than most other smart glasses I’ve tested that can output 600 to 700 nits. It also has outward-facing lenses that you can keep almost transparent to see your surroundings or darken to nearly opaque to keep out distractions.

If you’re nearsighted like me, the Viture Pro has a special appeal thanks to its focus dials. You can adjust the lenses to compensate for up to -5.00 myopia without spending extra money on prescription lens inserts like most other brands’ smart glasses. That’s a big boon if you’re looking to save.

Viture recently announced a new Luma line of smart glasses with even brighter pictures and wider fields of view, but they don’t make the Viture Pro any less useful. The older glasses still work great, and at $350 they’re available for $50 less than the cheapest Luma model, the Luma Essential (which doesn’t ship until September). I’m currently testing the Viture Pro’s direct replacement, the $500 Luma Pro, and while it seems like a clear upgrade, the Viture Pro remains a solid buy, especially at 30% off.

If you want to pay even less for smart glasses, the RayNeo Air 3s is your best bet at $269. It has excellent color and the same field of view as the Viture Pro. If you want to go really fancy, the $650 XReal One Pro is packed with features like built-in 3DOF head tracking, an ultra-wide 3,840-by-1080 mode for PCs, and a unique side view that puts the picture in a small corner so you can keep an eye on it while paying attention to something else.

That said, neither is as bright as the Viture Pro, and if you’re nearsighted, you’ll have to pay extra for lens inserts for either of them.
