Cybersecurity group Darktrace has announced plans to establish a new office in Saudi Arabia as it looks to bolster its presence in the MENA region.
The new Riyadh-based entity will serve customer across the Middle Eastern Kingdom, in line with the company’s plans to increase its customer base in the area, following the establishment of its Dubai office back in 2017.
The Cambridge-headquartered firm currently has 280 customers across MENA with 30 current employees in the region, set to increase after it opens its Riyadh location.
“With Saudi Arabia investing more than $14.9bn in AI and emerging technologies and its cybersecurity market set to grow at up to 13% annually, our presence in Riyadh ensures we can support organisations in one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving markets in the world,” said Nicole Eagan, co-Founder and strategic advisor at Darktrace.
“It’s another important step in Darktrace’s growth strategy as we continue to invest in markets where we see strong demand for AI-driven cybersecurity.”
The firm has also committed to joining the Saudi British Joint Business Council, a private sector-led group that promotes business and trade between the nations.
Darktrace has declared its support for Saudi Arabia’s flagship Vision 2030 scheme, a plan to diversify the Kingdom’s economic drivers beyond fossil fuels through technology, entertainment and sports.
Saudi Arabia has been accused of promoting its endeavours in sports and entertainment to distract from its numerous human rights and political controversies.
The new office is expected to open in 2026.
