After her visit to Paris last October during the Miku Expo 2024 tour, Hatsune Miku is now coming to our consoles and PC. Source of memes for some, real idol for others, the virtual singer from Yamaha Vocaloid is a true cultural phenomenon that needs no introduction. This popularity has even made him one of the most requested characters on Fortnite. Rumors regarding its inclusion in the battle royale have been recurring for several years now, but the wait is coming to an end. The leaks of the last few days have pushed Epic Games to formalize the collaboration via an exchange of messages that is improbable to say the least.
Hatsune Miku’s X account launched a wanted notice concerning the virtual singer’s backpack, to which Fortnite Festival replied “I found it, so I’m keeping it? Don’t worry, we’ll keep it for you backstage“. The battle royale has not yet communicated the official details of this collaboration, but here is all the information revealed by the most recent leaks.

Fortnite rolls out the red carpet for Miku
Everything suggests that the event Fortnite Festival dedicated to Vocaloid will begin on January 14. The Festival Pass will unlock the singer’s classic appearance, while the in-game store will offer a “Neko Miku” skin. Leakers claim that this second skin will not be inspired by the Nekomimi Switch costume from rhythm games Project Diva.
A microphone and two backpacks will also be available to complete the character’s range. Concerning the tracks included in this collaboration, only “M@GICAL CURE! LOVE SHOT!”“Miku“ et “Daisy 2.0“ were mentioned. The absence of classics such as “PooPoo“, “Tell Your World” or “World is Mine” seems strange, but it is not impossible that these will appear later. Especially since the first three songs are among Miku’s most recent hits, and are therefore more likely to resonate with the young Fortnite community.
Still according to rumors, the Korean group NewJeans was expected to be one of the next faces of the Fortnite Festival, but no one yet knows if the collaboration has been postponed or simply canceled. For now, Miku is in the spotlight, even in the cosmetics of the Club Fortnite subscription for the month of January. Indeed, the skin of the month – Durr Taisho – comes with a pickaxe in the shape of a Japanese spring onion, a key Vocaloid accessory in the song “Ievan Polka“.
