Lately, CDs have been enjoying a resurgence in popularity, but that’s not surprising as the medium is capable of excellent sound, even though it’s more than 40 years old. As well as the standard CDs, it’s possible to get higher-resolution audio if you have SACDs and a player that can play them.
SACDs look like regular CDs but manage to pack in more data and detail by using multiple layers within the disc. Now, Denon, one of Japan’s oldest audio brands, has announced its new Denon DCD-3000NE CD Player.
This new model provides SACD/CD and DSD playback by using a high-end 384kHz/32-bit DAC and Ultra AL32 Processing. Denon says the new player can reveal “unprecedented sonic detail” in all of your favorite music.
The DCD-3000NE can play all digital audio discs, including SACD/CD and DSD (2.8MHz/5.6MHz), DVD-R/RW, and DVD+R/RW files up to 192kHz/24-bit and CD-R/RW content.
Denon’s Ultra AL32 Processing uses interpolation algorithms to produce high-resolution output. With support for input signals up to 384kHz/24-bit, AL32 upsamples for smoother waveforms, resulting in improved sound reproduction.
Denon claims the DCD-3000NE’s advanced DAC in quad configuration produces a clean sound with “spaciousness, robust detail, and an incredibly wide dynamic range.”
With the player’s Pure Direct mode, users can disable the DCD-3000NE’s display and digital outputs to minimize any possible interference that could color the audio signal. The result is a clean, detailed, and accurate sound.
Also making an appearance on the Denon DCD-3000NE is the patented Suppress Vibration Hybrid drive mechanism, ensuring each disc is loaded quickly and spins precisely for the best possible data reading accuracy.
Pricing & Availability: If you fancy giving the Denon DCD-3000NE a spin, they will be available from authorized Denon retailers from December 2024 and priced at $2,999 / £2,200 / €2,500.
