This is the home stretch for subscription streaming platforms. After a year full of great discoveries and big disappointments, Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video still have a few tricks up their sleeves. The month of November will be particularly busy for series fans, who are waiting for the return of a monster from the small screen as much as the new proposal from a legendary screenwriter. Here are the series and films that you absolutely must see.
Frankenstein on Netflix — November 7th
Netflix misses the mark with the adaptation of a fantastic monument. A few days after Halloween, a period conducive to telling stories about monsters, the American platform is interested in the imagination of Mary Shelley for a new Frankenstein. This time, it’s Guillermo del Toro who’s doing it. The father of Crimson Peak et Pan’s Labyrinth knows his stuff and his vision already promises to be a landmark in the history of genre cinema. The story remains the same, a mad scientist attempts the unthinkable: giving life to a creature resulting from the assembly of several human remains. Overwhelmed by his ambition, his creation could well lead to his downfall.
