Chinese tech firm DJI on Tuesday unveiled the DJI Air 3S dual-camera drone, which starts at RMB 6,988 ($982) and includes a 50MP 24mm main camera with a one-inch sensor and a 48MP 70mm telephoto lens. The new model supports 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/120fps video recording, along with a 10-bit D-Log M color mode. Both cameras feature a new panorama function, allowing users to select their desired subject and customize the capture of multiple photos to create a panoramic image. For nighttime photography, the Air 3S is also DJI’s first drone equipped with forward-facing LiDAR (light detection and ranging) technology, combined with a downward-facing infrared ToF (time-of-flight) sensor and three pairs of vision sensors on the body. This technology enables the Air 3S to automatically identify and circumvent obstacles during its flight and return paths at nighttime. [DJI Weibo, in Chinese]
