The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 may have been revealed ahead of schedule, after the gimbal briefly appeared on the company’s official Chinese website.
The listing showed off a sleek new design, key feature upgrades, and pricing before it was quickly pulled.
From what was visible, the Osmo Mobile 8 looks like a significant advancement rather than a full redesign. It keeps DJI’s tried-and-true 3-axis stabilisation but now adds full 360-degree rotation, which can allow smoother panoramas and more creative transitions without requiring manual adjustments.
With a refined ergonomic grip and an improved folding mechanism, it appears lighter and more compact than the Osmo Mobile 7.
Additionally strengthened, DJI’s fourth-generation magnetic clamp is now more compatible with heavier flagship phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The leak also confirmed ActiveTrack 7.0, which is DJI’s latest subject-tracking tech that promises smarter, faster recognition through the DJI Mimo app. Another image teased a multifunction module that combines a fill light and built-in microphone which essentially turns the gimbal into a mini all-in-one vlogging rig.
Moreover, DJI’s built-in extension rod returns, useful for group selfies or low-angle photos and ought to be popular with both travel photographers and vloggers.
According to the briefly live listing, the Osmo Mobile 8 will be priced at CNY 898 or around $125 for the standard kit, with a slightly pricier Vlog Kit that likely includes the extra light and mic module.
While DJI hasn’t made an official announcement yet, the premature post all but confirms that a launch is imminent, probably within the next few weeks.
That said, if these leaked details hold up, the Osmo Mobile 8 could be one of DJI’s biggest mobile stabiliser refreshes in years.
