This thing looks small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, but somehow still makes your playlist sound like a banger. The Sony SRS-XB100 is lightweight, water and dustproof, and built to be tossed in a bag without worry. It runs for up to 16 hours, handles hands-free calls better than you’d expect, and even comes with a strap so you don’t have to dig around for it at the bottom of your backpack. It’s easy to toss in a bag without stressing, and built tough enough to handle real-life messes. Dialogue finally sounds like dialogue, not a muffled whisper under music and effects. It connects easily over Bluetooth or HDMI, and setup is refreshingly simple, especially if you already use a Fire TV. It’s now $84.99, down from $119.99, which makes it a very easy yes if your current speakers are still stuck in 2013.

If your current soundbar is just “TV louder box,” this one will feel like a proper glow-up. The Klipsch Flexus Core 200 is a 3.1.2 channel soundbar powered by Onkyo, with Dolby Atmos and custom-tuned bass that actually fills the room without shaking the walls off. Movies sound cinematic, dialogue comes through clean, and the low end has real depth without needing a subwoofer (real magic).
