Berlanga vows to seal Canelo Alvarez rematch
Edgar Berlanga has vowed to seal a rematch with Canelo Alvarez and send Hamzah Sheeraz “back to the UK”.
Decked in a Tottenham Hotspur kit to mock his Arsenal-supporting opponent, Berlanga is already looking past Sheeraz and to a potential next fight.
Berlanga was dominated over 12 rounds against Canelo last September – dropped by a left hook in the third.
He returned with a routine one-round win in March and now faces Sheeraz on Saturday in New York.
And Berlanga, 28, said: “My plan is to take over the 168 division.
“Hopefully, after this fight, obviously we focus on Saturday, but I would love to run it back with Canelo.
“If not, I’m looking forward to fighting one more time this year in November or December, it don’t matter.
“I want to finish the year off with a bang. I’m going to dust this dude, sweep him up, and send him back to f***ing UK.”
