ELON Musk’s AI chatbot went rogue when it started spewing pro-Hitler propaganda and antisemitic rants on X.
The hateful material popped up after an update telling Grok to be more “politically incorrect”, forcing Musk’s AI firm to hastily delete them in a humiliating backtrack.

Grok started spewing hate speech after the update when responding to user queries on X.
It even went on the attack – making vile statements about users with Jewish surnames.
The AI bot also seemingly dubbed itself: “MechaHitler”.
And it even made a series of sick comments about the deaths of children in the Texas floods.
Grok even hailed “Adolf Hitler” when asked for what 20th century historical figure it would use to tackle “anti-white hate”.
Disgusted users quickly pointed out the vile content, and some of the posts were quickly deleted.
Grok’s powers were also limited to that it could only generate images rather than text replies.
Musk’s firm behind the chatbot, xAI, addressed the unacceptable blunder: “We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts.
“Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.”
It continued: “xAI is training only truth-seeking and thanks to the millions of users on X, we are able to quickly identify and update the model where training could be improved.”
This week Grok also hurled seething insults at Poland’s Prime Minster Donald Tusk, calling him “a f***ing traitor” and “a ginger whore”.
The surge in abusive and offensive comments came after its creators made major changes, announced last week.
Musk posted on X on Friday: “We have improved @Grok significantly.
“You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions.”
As part of the update, Grok was told not to “shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect, as long as they are substantiated”, according to The Verge, which could explain the rise in racist rants.
The update also reportedly told Grok to assume that the media is biased.
This is not the first time Grok has been caught out spewing hate.
In June, it repeatedly referred to “white genocide” in South Africa – in response to unrelated queries.
What is Grok?
GROK is the relatively new AI chatbot tool built in to Elon Musk’s social media platform X.
It responds to queries as in the comments of threads on the platform – as a usual account would.
Users can summon a response by tagging the chatbot, @Grok, and asking it a question.
It is designed to be conversational, similar ChatGPT, but with a more “witty, bold and sarcastic tone”.
Grok also has the ability to access real-time information from posts to X.
The name “Grok” comes from the science fiction novel Stranger in a Strange Land.
