Get ready, “Emily in Paris” fans: The time to say “Bonjour à nouveau!” to season 5 of the Netflix hit is quickly approaching, especially now that production has officially wrapped on the fifth installment. The show will drop all 10 episodes of season 5 on Thursday, December 18, as a holiday treat.

Series stars Lily Collins and Ashley Park — who portray our titular marketing maven Emily Cooper and her cabaret-singer BFF Mindy Chen, respectively — commemorated the conclusion of filming in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, August 26.

A photo of the actresses seemingly on a dock in Venice, Italy, overlooking the Santa Maria della Salute and each holding a bouquet of flowers, was captioned: “And that’s another wrap on @emilyinparis… Here’s to five seasons of friendship turned sisterhood — Venice, Paris, Rome, anywhere is home with you by my side.”

“Incredibly grateful for our Emily family and so extremely proud of what we all created together this year. Arrivederci ’til December 18!…” the caption continued.

Though the photograph looks joyous, the past week has reportedly been a difficult one on the set of “Emily in Paris” season 5, due to the tragic loss of crew member Diego Borella, an assistant director on the show. Borella died of a sudden heart attack after collapsing on set on August 21, reported La Repubblica; he was 47. Filming was paused for two days before resuming on August 23.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the ‘Emily in Paris’ production family,” a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Our hearts go out to the individual’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Neither Collins nor Park mentioned the tragedy in their end-of-season social media post.

The upcoming episodes will see Collins’s character exploring a new love (cashmere scion Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini) in a new country: Italy. “This season is a tale of two cities. Rome and Paris,” creator Darren Star told Netflix’s Tudum. “Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level.”

“Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks,” reads the official synopsis for season 5. “Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

Netflix recently gave an early peek at the eps with a fresh batch of first-look photos featuring Collins, Park and Franceschini, as well as fellow returning cast members Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (as Sylvie Grateau), Bruno Gouery (Luc), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel) and William Abadie (Antoine Lambert). Elsewhere in the season 5 cast, Samuel Arnold (as Julien), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve), Paul Forman (Nico) and Arnaud Binard (Laurent G) are all confirmed to appear in the new episodes. They will be joined by cast newcomers Bryan Greenberg (as Jake, an American expat living in London), Michèle Laroque (playing Yvette, one of Sylvie’s oldest friends) and Oscar nominee Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie’s who marries into royalty.
