Almost half of the schools in the world do not yet have internet access, a situation that Equinix and UNICEF They have proposed to change. The agreement, which is valid for three years, will be in charge of supporting the Giga mission taking internet access to schools that are in the most remote communities, to offer more learning possibilities to students worldwide. As part of this collaboration, Giga, a UNICEF project and the International Telecommunications Union, is developing a pilot initiative based on the Equinix infrastructure, focused on the improvement of the precision and reliability of quality and latency measurements in schools.
Equinix, which has a network of more than 260 data centers worldwide, will not only offer the necessary infrastructure to address this transformation, but will also provide the capabilities of its global interconnection platform.
