SHOPPERS were left gutted after Aldi scrapped a beloved bargain drink – but now, some claim they’ve found a RED BULL dupe.

This Aldi energy drink retails for just 99 cents per can – much lower than the $2 to $3 price range for branded energy drinks.

Today a shopper revealed they have found a Red Bull dupe, posting a picture of two cans side by side:

“These strawberry apricot red thunders taste exactly like the strawberry apricot Red Bulls.

“I haven’t tried the Juneberry yet, but I’m assuming it will be the same. 10/10

“I hope they never stop making them and they’re only 99 cents,” the user wrote in their post on the Facebook group ALDI Aisle of Shame Community.

Others were quick to share their enthusiasm for the product.

“The juneberry is so good! I bought 12 last night,” wrote one user.

One user said, “I tried the juneberry this morning. it was verrrrry good. Juneberry redbull is my favorite flavor but the red thunder was a good and cheaper replacement.”

The Red Thunder energy drink packs 120 milligrams of caffeine in a 12 fl oz can – 40 milligrams more than a regular Red Bull.

Red Thunder also has a total of 156 calories and 37 grams of sugar per can.

There was some uncertainty surrounding the availability of Red Thunder.

Aldi briefly discontinued its Red Thunder energy drinks – a move confirmed by the retailer on X in March 2023.

But after fans voiced their disappointment on social media, the popular energy appears to be back.

It comes as news of a popular drink’s discontinuation broke after a customer reached out to ALDI US, who confirmed the product was no longer available in stores.

The customer shared a screenshot of the exchange, along with a grape-flavored PurAqua drink mix, on Facebook.

“Hi! We can confirm that the electrolyte drink mix sticks have actually been discontinued and are no longer available,” the account responded.

“We do have our hydration drink mix sticks available in a majority of our stores, and they have electrolytes as well, so maybe give those a shot if you see them!”

The hydration drink mix sticks in question are called Propel – and they are almost double the price of PurAqua for the same quantity.

PurAqua, a brand known for its flavored water and drink mix beverages, is sold mainly at Aldi, a German multinational discount supermarket chain.

Shoppers looking for an alternative for PurAqua’s Electrolyte Drink Mix Sticks will have to settle for PurAqua’s Hydration Drink Mix Sticks.

Aldi shoppers were saddened to learn about the product’s discontinuation.

“No!!! The hydration sticks are not as good,” one user commented on Facebook.

“Noooo!! These are the only way I can choke down my water each day! The new ones are DISGUSTING!!!” wrote another.

Another said: “Please bring them back!! Or at least make another product with the grape flavor!!”
