Showman Subhash Ghai scored fourteen hits in a row from the start Kalicharan in 1976 to Language in 1999. As a producer, he has backed films like 36 China Town, Apna Sapna Money Money, Aitraazand above all, Ibal. He also runs an institution called Whistling Woods International since 2006.
In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the veteran filmmaker spoke about the growing dependence on artificial intelligence and its impact on Hindi cinema.
Ghai said: “What is artificial intelligence? Artificial intelligence is created by the human mind. Human intelligence has created artificial intelligence. Thousands of minds have come together and created information and knowledge for your help. Your parents can help you, this information will also help you study. Artificial intelligence can never take over the credibility of a person. A human mind is one of the best minds in the world.”
The filmmaker added: “If he can create artificial intelligence, yeh ho Gaya na bas. Let’s not be afraid that it will take over. A human will continue to progress and artificial intelligence will become a routine. There was a time when you had to physically go to a library, but nowadays you have an archive. Suppose there is a dog and a king on a remote island. What their relationship is: who is going to save who, who is going to kill who. This is a story I created right in front of you, not with the help of artificial intelligence. They will always be technologies. All you have to do is be aware of it and be alert to it. What follows is the nature of the human mind.”
