Roku, which already had an interface packed with a host of quirks, has started rolling out its new OS 15 software for users, with the majority of its TV devices updating automatically through the week.

The update, which will be available for users of their TV devices and streaming sticks, focuses on usability, allowing for a more user-friendly interface for its customers.

Sports fans will be able to enjoy the Sports Experience hub, which puts together live games, highlights, and scores from multiple leagues into a single section.

The hub has also been upgraded to add live scores and reminders for up coming games.

While the streaming company has also made upgrades to its audio-visual features available through the new software – with Roku OS 15 supports improved HDR10+ and Dolby Vision on compatible devices

The update also comes with frame rate matching, in order to get rid of juddering during playback.

Roku confirmed the update is free of charge for all eligible devices and does not require any additional hardware.

Those who received the beta version of the update earlier this year reported smoother performance and less crashes, which will be great news for fans.

It has set positive expectations for the wider release of OS 15, which also comes with a host of security patches and updates.

Roku TV owners should keep an eye on their devices as the update will automatically roll out.

Users will need to ensure their devices have a strong Wi-Fi connection as the updates take place.

Those who do not receive the update by the weekend can expect it in the following phases, with full coverage anticipated by the end of the month.

Roku has become one of Amazon’s biggest TV rivals, with their cost-effective streaming sticks even cheaper than the fire stick.

A slew of the brand’s products have seen their prices reduced as the company looks to streamline viewers’ experience.

The Streaming Stick 4K was launched in 2021 and remains on the market.

All three of these devices simply plug into your TV’s HDMI and the two newest models can run off USB power

Roku’s cheapest option of the streaming stick remains at a respectable £24.99.
