Pulse is set in Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, with the staff and patients grappling with their demanding jobs and complicated health issues as a hurricane dramatically barrels towards the hospital.

Actress Willa Fitzgerald takes on the lead role of Dr. Danny Simms, with viewers watching as she is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips, played by Colin Woodell, is suspended.

The 10-part series, which lands in April on Netflix, sees the hospital goes into lockdown, and Danny and Phillips forced to find a way to work together.

Yet adding a further complication into the mix, the details of a complicated and illicit romance between them begin to spill out.

The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes.

The star cast includes Willia Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell, Justina Machado, Jack Bannon, Jessie T. Usher, Chelsea Muirhead, Daniela Nieves and Jessy Yates.

Also starring are Néstor Carbonell, Jessica Rothe, Santiago Segura, Ash Santos and Arturo Del Puerto.

Pulse’s creator, creator, showrunner and executive producer Zoe Robyn told Netflix Tudum: “We wanted these characters to be real people who have to go through the relatable issues of working together in a pressure cooker.

“Relationships are forming and breaking apart on Pulse.”

Showrunner and executive producer Carlton Cuse added: “Nowadays, your work family can really be, apart from your literal family, the most important community you have.

“The complications that arise — between what’s going on off the clock and on the clock — can get messy.

“It can get confusing. That’s what we wanted to explore with Pulse.”

Fans are already excited about the new drama as one said: “Looks intense and thrilling Can’t wait to watch pulse and see this amazing cast in action.”

Another added: “You had me at Colin Woodell.”

Someone else commented: “I love this!!! Definitely watching.”

A fourth wrote: “How did you know that I love medical shows?” “I’m obsessed already!” declared another.
