Popular flight tracking app Flighty has launched a major new update today, adding a new ‘Airport Intelligence’ feature that’s even available on the web. Here are the details.

Flighty’s Airport Intelligence available inside app and on the web

If you’re a Flighty user, the app has a big update available now. And if you’re not a Flighty user, you can still benefit via the new web dashboard for Airport Intelligence.

Flighty 4.8, available now on the App Store, brings ‘Airport Intelligence’ to the iPhone app. It’s a new way to understand and anticipate potential delays for your flight.

How does it work? Per the app release notes:

We listen for disruptions, extreme weather, traffic jams, low staffing, and everything else. Then we process it with Al and combine our live flight status understanding to create a live explanation of the conditions at every airport worldwide – not just US.

There are a variety of ways that Airport Intelligence is applied throughout the Flighty app, which you’ll find below. But even without the app, anyone can visit flighty.com/airports for the latest status of airports around the world.

Here is the list of new features via Flighty’s App Store release notes:

Airport Status Map
Explore our new map of global airport delays. Browse most disrupted airports. Get live stats or daily delay totals.

Airport Disruptions List
Your flights get the new airport intelligence, so the impact to you is always right at your fingertips. In each flight, you’ll see your airport’s status and any watch-outs. Additionally, weather delay reasons are extremely specific and straight from METAR and TAF – like de-icing, low vis, hail, and 28 more.

Meltdown Forecasting
See when delays start and when they improve with our new Delay Trend.

Runway Regulars
Is your friend a JFK expert? Flighty now shows how many times you vs your friends have visited an airport on a fun little podium.

Track Your Favorite Airports
Star your favorite airports and get an alert anytime major disruptions are occurring.

More Airport features:

  • Flight boards
  • Departure and arrival performance by the hour
  • Airports’ most impacted airlines and routes
