SoftwareFout can hide critical information

Ford calls on 355,656 trucks, including 2025 F-150 and 2025-2026 F-2550, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty models, because incorrect software can prevent digital instrument panels from going on when the vehicles are started, as a result of which drivers without critical information, such as vehicle speed and observation.

Digital instrumentation has followed touchscreens as a mandatory addition to dashboards for new cars, but without an analogue backup, a blank cluster drivers without vital information behind those federal regulations must be displayed at all times. That is why Ford carries out a recall, but the automaker expects a simple softwarefix.

Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that defective instrument cluster software was introduced in production vehicles between 6 June 2024 and 22 July 2025. The incorrect software can lead to an error with memory protection that the instrument cluster will be recovered during the instrument cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, that addent cluster, the instrumenten cluster, which is the instructor cluster cluster cluster cluster cluster, after the place of sleep, cluster cluster cluster cluster cluster cluster, after the place of sleep, switched off.

The reception population comprises 278,376 F-150 pickups in full size and 77,280 heavy super-expensive models, according to recall documents. Ford said the NHTSA that it had received 95 warranty claims from June with regard to this issue that went back to January this year. But the car maker said it was not aware of related accidents or injuries.

Correct software is installed via an over-the-air update or by dealers, free. Ford is planning to email the notification of the owner 2 September, but owners can also call the customer service of the automaker on 1-866-436-7332 and reference refund number 25S88 for more information.

Updates about the air mean that F-150 owners do not have to visit a dealer for this recall, but many owners will make trips for their local Ford dealers for another problem that cannot be solved with new software. Earlier this month, Ford reminded 103.174 F-150 trucks from model Years 2023-2025 because of weak bolts on the rear bag that could break. These are just the newest in a record -breaking series of recall actions for the Blue Oval this year.

In the first half of 2025, Ford alone issued 89 recall actions and surpassed the record of 77 of General Motors in 2014. The pace of recall actions has not shown any signs of delay since June. In addition to the two most recent truck returns, Ford has recalled around 300,000 vehicles for braking problems and around 20,000 Lincoln Aviator SUVs due to another software problem with regard to window controls.
