Daniel Williams, the former drummer for metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, shared images from within the Cessna 550 plane shortly before it went down. Williams and Dave Shapiro, 42, a talent agent and owner of Sound Talent Group (STG), died in the crash in a San Diego district on Thursday 22 May.
The images, shared on the Instagram stories from Williams, showed the cockpit of the small plane. One image was: “Hey. Hey … you … look at me … I’m now the (co) pilot.”
A second image became a caption “Here we goooooooo.” The third and final image reads “fly back with @davevelocity.”

Daniel Williams shared this image on his Instagram stories shortly before he died in a plane crash.
Williams left the music industry at least eight years ago at least eight years ago, according to his X account. In a recent message he announced that he had accepted a job at Apple on 14 May.
“I am very enthusiastic to share that I have accepted a role of software engineering at Apple,” he wrote. “It was really hard to say goodbye to my friends and colleagues at Gopro, but it’s time for my next chapter. It’s time to build the future.”
In an Instagram post, the band brought to Williams with images of the band over the years, as well as an image of Williams behind his drum kit. “♥ ️ No words. We owe you everything. I love you forever,” the group scored the post.

The band made a name for the first time in the mid -2000s with their 2006 album Best Love: a beautiful disagreement. Formed in Ohio, the group chose their name before the famous film from 2006 with the same name with in the lead role Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway was released, per last.fm.
“We were destroyed by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends,” wrote a spokesperson for Shapiro’s STG in a statement Billboard. “Our hearts go to their families and to everyone hit by the tragedy of today. Thank you very much for respecting their privacy at the moment.”

The father of Williams, Larry, told TMZ that their families are sure that he was on the plane and that there were no survivors of the crash. However, he said that they have not officially received confirmation from the authorities.

People contacted the FAA for confirmation about the names on board the Cessna, but have not received a response.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
