Foxconn has begun trial production of Apple’s first foldable iPhone, sources familiar with the matter said, with the device expected to launch in the second half of 2026. The phone will feature a horizontal “book-style” foldable design, a 7.7–8 inch 4K-level inner display, and an outer screen with a punch-hole front camera. Apple has combined its Vision Pro display team with the iPhone hardware group to tackle foldable screen challenges, promising a crease-free display and a folding lifespan of 300,000 cycles.
The China version is expected to start at 14,000–15,000 yuan ($1,960–2,100), while the top-tier model could exceed 20,000 yuan ($2,800), making it the most expensive iPhone ever. [TechNode Reporting]
