The Board of Directors of AMETIC, the technology industry association, has appointed Francisco Hortigüela as the new president of the association after his candidacy to replace Pedro Mier has received broad support from the members of the board of directors.
Hortigüela, founder and CEO of InBusiness 5.0 and general director of AMETIC between May 2019 and April 2023has extensive experience in the technology sector, having held leadership positions in companies such as Philips, where he held the position of marketing director, or Samsung, where he was responsible for Communication, Public Affairs and CSR in Spain.
He now assumes his new position at AMETIC with the firm commitment to developing a cohesive, united, integrated association that makes it more open, stronger and more influential.
“It is a pride to assume this new position in an association of which I have already been a part as general director for four years, and which now I face the challenge of integrating and uniting the entire team and associates. We believe in an Executive Committee with people who are involved in the day-to-day running of the association, its commissions and, ultimately, in a dynamic and attractive AMETIC, much more inclusive and collaborative,” said Francisco Hortigüela.
The new president, who had 33 votes in favor from the members of the board of directors, will lead the voice of the digital industry, giving greater weight to all associates, while working hand in hand with other large associations.
Its objective is to seek alliances with entities so that the digital technology sector wins, in addition to working so that the board of directors has more executive power, establishing an organizational model that prioritizes the active participation of the committees in decision-making.
