Fujitsu has announced the launching operations software for quantum computerswhich has developed in collaboration with several dedicated partners, among other things, to research in quantum computing. The software, composed of a set of applications called OqtopusIt has all the necessary tools to operate a quantum computer and be able to work with it. Both its details, as its source code and components, is available on the page of the project developers in Github.

Oqtopus, abbreviation for Open Quantum toolchain for Operators and Users Software, is one of the largest Open Source initiatives launched globally for work in quantum computing. It has been developed thanks to Fujitsu’s collaboration with the University of Osaka, Systems Engineering Conscants CO, and Tis Inc, and can be customized to adapt its operation to the needs of each individual and organization that need it.

Its developers hope to contribute to Oqtopus to the fact that quantum practical computing becomes a reality. Until now, universities and companies that wanted their quantum computers to be accessible through the cloud had no choice but to develop the software they needed to have a cloud -based operation.

But with Oqtopus the problem is solved, and the companies and institutions participating in their development have managed to reduce the difficulties of accessing the deployment of quantum computers in the cloud. Fujitsu will also make it available to the associated research companies that use their computers through the service they already provide. It will arrive throughout the second half of 2025.

From now on, on the other hand, Fujitsu will continue working with his research partners to give a boost to quantum computing Through the continuous expansion of the capacities of this software, as well as with the promotion of the development of a global community around OQTOPUS.
