It was just two days ago that Fwupd 2.0.15 released with new hardware support and other improvements. That has already been replaced by Fwupd 2.0.16.
This isn’t a “brown paper bag” software release but rather to ship a new feature. Fwupd 2.0.16 adds a new “search” feature for the fwuptool and fwupdmgr utilities. The new search feature for Fwupd allows for finding matching releases available in configured remotes. In effect, searching firmware releases from the collected LVFS metadata. For example, searching fwupdmgr search CVE-2022-21894 for finding matches to a given CVE.
In addition to the new search feature, Fwupd 2.0.16 also builds upon the prior release with more fixes for FreeBSD systems to properly handle firmware updates.
