- Open Lens in the Google app on Android or iOS.
- Tap on the yellow banana icon under the new “Create” mode.
- Either take a photo or pick one from your gallery.
- Then, simply describe how you want the image to look.
Want to turn a regular selfie into a photo booth-style picture? Or visualise your dog in a Halloween costume without the real-life struggle? Nano Banana can do that with a few words. You can even create an image from scratch by typing a detailed prompt — no photo required.
Google says this integration aims to make creative editing more conversational and hands-on, allowing users to visualise ideas instantly while browsing or searching.
NotebookLM Gets a Creative Boost
Nano Banana is also coming to NotebookLM, where it will enhance the platform’s Video Overviews feature. Users will now be able to generate illustrations in different styles – such as anime, watercolour, or classic – and even create quick micro-videos through a new format called “Brief.”
This makes it easier for writers, students, or creators to add visuals that match their notes or presentations. The update is rolling out first to Pro users, with others getting access soon.
When Will You Get It?
Google also confirmed that Nano Banana will soon arrive in Google Photos, likely allowing users to edit stored images directly using AI prompts. The exact timeline hasn’t been shared yet, but the expansion hints at Google’s broader plan to weave Gemini AI tools across all its major apps.
For now, whether you’re designing something quirky in Lens or adding visuals in NotebookLM, Nano Banana makes AI-powered creativity just a tap away.
