The Genode operating system framework continues innovating over a decade and a half later on this original open-source OS creation and with that Sculpt OS as its general purpose OS. Out today is Sculpt OS 25.10 to incorporate the latest enhancements to the platform.

Sculpt OS 25.10 is primarily about shipping “under the hood” improvements to the operating system including better performance and enhanced device driver capabilities.

Performance-limited platforms like the PinePhone should enjoy better performance thanks to CPU scheduling improvements. The block storage stack of Genode also continues to be improved as do other areas of the platform.

Sculpt OS

Sculpt OS 25.10 also features the latest regarding hardware support leveraged from the Linux kernel community, largely aligned with the Linux 6.12 LTS upstream state.

Sculpt OS 25.10 is available for PC hardware as well as special images for the PinePhone and MNT Reform laptop. Downloads and more details for those interested in this original OS effort can find out all the details via Genode.org.
