Apple has officially announced that it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 9 to 13.

Things kick off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on Monday, June 9, at Apple Park in Cupertino. It will be live-streamed on the Apple Developer app, the Apple developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. Those who want to attend in person must request special event passes by 11:59 p.m. PT on April 2.

Apple says WWDC “will spotlight the latest advancements in Apple software.” That likely includes a first look at iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16, as well as the next-gen versions of watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS.

That means there will be a lot of goodies for Apple fans. The company has occasionally thrown in some hardware surprises at WWDC. At the 2023 conference, for example, we got a first look at the Vision Pro and the first Apple-Silicon-powered Mac Pro desktop. However, there are no solid rumors about hardware announcements yet. (The iPhone 17 won’t arrive until the fall. ) This being a developer event, it’s largely focused on giving devs a chance to try out Apple’s next-gen software.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” says Susan Prescott, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

Rumors are swirling that Apple will introduce a massive visual overhaul of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16—potentially the biggest visual overhaul since iOS 7 in 2013. Reportedly, Apple wants a more cohesive OS strategy; the result may resemble visionOS. The AirPods may also receive a live translation feature with iOS 19.

Apple Intelligence was the star of the show during WWDC 2024, but it’s had a rocky rollout. Initial tools haven’t impressed us much, and a major overhaul for Siri has been pushed back several times. We may not see that until 2027.

More recently, it seems like Apple is focusing more on visual AI. Rumors suggest it will put cameras in Apple Watches and AirPods, but that’s not expected for another year or two, either.

Joe Hindy

Hello, my name is Joe and I am a tech blogger. My first real experience with tech came at the tender age of 6 when I started playing Final Fantasy IV (II on the SNES) on the family’s living room console. As a teenager, I cobbled together my first PC build using old parts from several ancient PCs, and really started getting into things in my 20s. I served in the US Army as a broadcast journalist. Afterward, I served as a news writer for XDA-Developers before I spent 11 years as an Editor, and eventually Senior Editor, of Android Authority. I specialize in gaming, mobile tech, and PC hardware, but I enjoy pretty much anything that has electricity running through it.
