Google’s flagship Pixel 10 series smartphones will reportedly switch from Qualcomm and Samsung modem chips to MediaTek’s in 2025, according to an exclusive report by US media outlet Android Authority. Google has chosen MediaTek’s yet-to-be-released T900 modem chip, which is expected to outperform its predecessor, the T800, the report claimed. The T800 modem chip, released in November 2022, features peak download speeds of up to 7.9 Gbps and peak upload speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps. Additionally, the Pixel 10 series will feature the Tensor G5 processor, manufactured using TSMC’s N3E (3nm) process—the same process used for Apple’s iPhone 16 series A18 and A18 Pro chips.
