Google has started rolling out its AI video creation tool named Google Vids. The tool can help users in multiple video creation workflows. To clear the confusion here, Google Vids is not a video generation tool like Pika and others available in the market. Contrarily, it assists the users in adding stock videos, images, script writing, and creating background music, along with AI-generated voiceovers.
In addition to that, the tool also lets the users record audio and video of their own and add it to the video. As of now, the tool is available via Google Workspace accounts on multiple subscription tiers – Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Essentials, Enterprise Essentials and Enterprise Essentials Plus, and the Education Plus tiers. All the users who have access to Gemini Business, Education, Enterprise, or Education Premium add-ons will also get to use Google Vids.
Google Vids benefits and capabilities
Google Vids will let the users take advantage of Gemini AI and generate the first draft of the video or a presentation that you are creating. The tool features a ‘help me create’ feature with which you can generate an editable storyboard comprising text, script per scene, background music track, and stock media. The users will have to provide a source document from Google Drive, choose a style, and provide a prompt to the tool as well.

Users can also choose from a range of templates available on the platform and instantly move it to the storyboard stage. The best part about the tool is that it is compatible with other tools like Google Docs and Slides as well. As of now, Google has said that the Vids tool will be available for use restriction-free until December 2025. However, there will be a usage limit for the same starting from 2026.
