Gemini, Google’s next-gen AI assistant, has shown up early on one single Google TV device weeks before the wider rollout expected later this year.

One user spotted Gemini quietly appearing on their Sony Bravia TV, marking the first sighting of the feature outside the TCL QM9K series, which was previously the only model confirmed to have it. That TV, which costs about £1,500, runs Android 14. This makes it seem like Gemini’s official release might be closer than Google has been saying.

But what’s actually included? Well, apparently Gemini has ten voices on Google TV, each with its own tone and personality. For example, “Bloom” is calm and mid-range, “Calathea” is Australian accent and higher, and “Violet” is British and mid-range.

This isn’t the same as Gemini on Android, but it does match those found on Nest speakers, suggesting Google is aiming for a consistent experience across all devices.

The voice you pick will be your assistant, allowing you to ask your TV questions when prompted.

Instead of an official rollout, this early appearance could be simply a build released by accident. As 9to5 highlighted, some of the icons and logos use Google’s older branding, which hints this version may not be final. Even so, it’s clear Google’s prepping TVs to join the rest of its ecosystem under the Gemini banner.

The full rollout of Gemini on TVs is expected late this year.
