The GSMA has announced the closure of several strategic alliances with organizations from the automotive and aeronautical sectors. Thanks to these alliances, the GSMA will dedicate themselves to working on behalf of the mobile industry for Understand the connectivity needs of these sectors and support the development of specific advanced connectivity solutions for them.
Among the organizations that will be associated with GSMA thanks to these alliances are the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), the Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture (Jaspar), Outsight, Safran Passenger Innovations and Seamles Air Alliance.
The GSMA Fusion initiative, recently formed to listen to companies at the industrial level and identify unbeatured needs that current advanced networks can offer, will be in charge, in GSMA’s bosom, of everything related to these alliances. As part of GSMA Open Gateway, Fusion will work with the automotive, aeronautical sectors, financial services, manufacturing and media, among others, to expedite the demand for solutions based on API 5G and others. Also of deliveries new services for companies.
Specifically, collaborations with Seamless Air Alliance, Outsight and Safran Passenger Innovations will aim to improve the efficiency, safety and satisfaction of the client in the area of aeronautics. Among other measures, they will assess the potential of 5G technology to enable flight connectivity, perform real -time aircraft diagnoses, predictive maintenance and improve flight routes.
Other activities of these collaborations will be the impulse to the connectivity in flight without interruptions and the creation of smarter airports with complete travel monitoring, automatic records and navigation in augmented reality. Also to improve in the tracking of the luggage.
Collaborations with 5gaa and Jaspar will be focused on integrating advanced connectivity to give an impulse to innovation in autonomous driving, smart cities and mobility solutions. Thanks to 5G technology, the automobile sector can improve in safety, efficiency and sustainability.
Those launched two years ago, GSMA Open Gateway says that mobile operators can offer company developers standardized access to various beef functions to create applications and services. It brings together operators around the world, which facilitates the design of digital products that can function fluently on all devices, regardless of country or operator. This is achieved thanks to APIS, which serve the information on the network capabilities, and that are available through the camera repository, an open source project backed by the Linux Foundation, GSMA and TM Forum.
According to Mats Granyrd, general director of the GSMA«The alliances that we are announcing today through GSMA Fusion, are aimed at the mobile ecosystem truly satisfying the needs of the automobile and aeronautical sectors, and take advantage of the power of mobile connectivity to create innovative solutions that improve safety, efficiency and customer experience. When we launched the GSMA Open Gateway initiative in MWC Barcelona two years ago, we express our ambition to unlock all the potential of 5G networks for all industries through universal access and open APIs, and the association we have just announced is another step in that direction ».
