Haier has launched its I-Pro Shine dishwasher range, which uses Biovitae technology to remove up to 99.99% of bacteria at 45°C. That, in turn, promises lower running costs than the high-temperature cycles or UV options that competitors use to achieve similar results.
Biovitae uses patented multi-wavelength visible LED light to inhibit bacterial growth inside the dishwasher cavity, operating both during and after wash cycles rather than limiting sanitisation to a single high-heat phase at the end of a programme.
The UltraClean 45° programme delivers lab-tested bacteria removal at a temperature significantly below the 70-to-75°C range that traditional hygiene cycles typically require, a difference that directly reduces energy consumption per wash without compromising the tested sanitisation outcome.
Odour Safe Mode prevents odours from building up in the dishwasher by using the Biovitae light to suppress the bacteria responsible for odours for up to 10 hours before a cycle begins. That’s particularly useful for households that load dishes over a few days, rather than running cycles immediately.
The Purify Pro-Light cycle runs after a wash without using additional water, reducing bacteria by up to 93% during a two-hour post-cycle phase and extending the sanitisation window beyond what water-based programmes alone can achieve.
Range and availability
A Baby Care programme applies the same Biovitae light technology to items requiring additional hygiene assurance, including baby bottles and plasticware, materials that high-temperature cycles can degrade over repeated use and that UV-based systems can damage.
The I-Pro Shine range spans three tiers: the Series 5 in freestanding configuration, the Series 6 as a fully integrated model, and the Series 7 as a further freestanding option.
Pricing and full model specifications are available through the Haier UK website, with the I-Pro Shine Biovitae Collection now listed across the Series 5, 6, and 7 models for the UK market.
