He was in good company at the bash, which was filmed live, surrounded by fellow A-listers Peter Dinklage, Adrien Brody and his Shrinking co-stars Jason Segel and Jessica Williams sat at dinner tables.
The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards opened in Los Angeles with the camera panning the Shrine Auditorium, and showing famous faces delivering speeches about the meaning of being an actor.
But when it landed on Shrinking star Jessica, Harrison, 82, appeared totally unaware that he was on TV — and was caught tucking into a biscuit.
As he was about to take another bite it suddenly dawned on him and he stopped chewing, froze, and carefully placed the treat back on his plate.
The mishap threw Jessica off and she burst into laughter.
“I told him to turn away,” she choked, before jokingly yelling at her Shrinking co-star, “Don’t look (at the camera)!”
The clip has been spreading online, with fans on X relishing the actor’s relatable moment.
One commented: “Zero f**ks given, been in the game long enough not to have to follow the rules.”
Another said: “Harrison Ford always looks like he’s having the time of his life.”
As a third reacted: “I ran into a vein of really good writing, and I thought I’d take advantage of it, and I’m really glad I did.”
One more posted: “Iconic moment…
“Who else would eat like that in front of the camera?”
It was also a good night for Irish actor Colin Farrell who won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for his role in The Penguin.
The awards, hosted by Kristen Bell, reflected on actors’ first starts in the business.
“I have to thank my sister who I’ve worked with for 22 years,” he said in his acceptance speech.
