The air is fresher, the leaves are turning brown and blankets are within reach. The month of October is already here and with it the rainy afternoons. After a summer spent away from screens, streaming platforms have understood that the fall in the mercury is the perfect opportunity for series and film lovers to wrap themselves up in a blanket and stay there as long as possible. That’s good, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and others are continuing their efforts to enrich their respective catalogs. In October, there are many outings, you still need to know where to turn. On Netflix, werewolves and an iconic adventurer
If the Halloween selections will already offer hours of entertainment to fans of horror, macabre or “spooky” animation, a few new releases are added to the already very long list of series and films to devour before October 31 . In October, Netflix France is tackling an iconic board game.
- Werewolves — October 23
Netflix is tackling a game library hit. François Uzan – who worked on Lupin – is about to unveil Werewolves with Franck Dubosc, Jean Reno and Suzanne Clément. The story is simple, a family finds a mysterious deck of cards and finds themselves transported to the Middle Ages. At nightfall, in the small villagesome residents turn into wolves and our heroes must find them to hope to return home.
- Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft — October 10
If you’re not too keen on werewolves, witches and villagers, there are also some interesting things on the video game side. In the meantime, Prime’s live-action series Lara Croft is getting an animated project on Netflix. The plot takes place after Tomb Raider : Definitive Survivor. As she continues to travel the globe in search of precious artifacts, the adventurer must interrupt her journey when a dangerous object is stolen from Croft Manor. This new quest takes her into the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will have to confront herself and decide what kind of heroine she wants to become…
- The Menéndez brothers — October 7
After the controversial series, Netflix intends to give the two murderers an opportunity to tell their version of the story. With this documentary, Alejandro Hatmann decor decades of archival footage and documents to show the drama that took place in August 1989 in a new light. For the first time in 30 years, Erik and Lyle Menéndez will testify from prison, where they are still incarcerated.

On Prime Video, the Loft and Yakuzas
It has now been three years since Prime Video launched into the production of French content. Although Mixte has not met with the expected success, the American company has not been discouraged and is continuing its momentum. In 2024, a section of French pop culture is being dissected.
Much criticized at its launch, the show Loft Story is nonetheless a turning point for French television. In 2001, M6 took the gamble of adapting a Dutch concept. Prime Video also continues on the path of video game adaptations. This time, it’s a title from the SEGA team that the platform is facing. The series follows Kazuma Kiryu, a Yakuza warrior with a strong sense of duty and justice, and his three childhood friends. From 1995 to 2005, the adaptation is described as a human and fascinating fresco.

- Citadel: Diana — October 10
The connected universe Citadel does not offer itself a first spin-off while waiting for season 2. Direction Italy and the future with a production which evolves in 2030 in Milan. Eight years ago, the independent spy agency Citadel was destroyed by the powerful enemy syndicate Manticore. Since then, Diana Cavalieri, an undercover Citadel agent, has been alone, trapped behind enemy lines as a Manticore mole. She must work with the heir of Manticore to find a way to escape.
Disney+ dusts off the horror genre
- Hold your breath — October 3
Sarah Paulson continues to shine as the queen of modern horror. Since her first appearances with Ryan Murphy, the actress has managed to build a solid reputation for productions that we don’t dare watch in the dark. This time, it will be in a film broadcast on Disney+ that it will evolve. In Oklahoma, during the 1930s, mechanized dryland agriculture unleashed an unprecedented ecological disaster. After three waves of exceptional drought, the region was hit by a series of devastating dust storms. Houses are buried, crops destroyed and the population falls into extreme poverty. On Max, superheroes and a first French series
Max has arrived in our territory for almost six months now. The platform benefited from a launch with great fanfare, helped by the return of House of the Dragon for season 2. If the new features are still quite few, things accelerate in October.

- A devoted friend — October 11
This is the first local production of Max, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. A devoted friend follows Christelle, who joins a group of survivors of the November attacks. She claims her best friend is in a coma and finds comfort in the other victims. But his whole story is based on a lie. Laura Calamy stars in this drama series.
On Paramount+, zombies and vampires
Daryl Dixon returns to service on Paramount+. After a first season, the spin-off series from The Walking Dead continues its exploration of a France under the influence of a zombie invasion. The character played by Norman Reedus will find his lifelong accomplice: Carol. Season 2 has been broadcast since September 30. But zombies are not the only mythical creatures to appear in the Paramount+ catalog.
- Interview with a Vampire season 2 — October 11
Broadcast in the United States on May 12, season 2 ofInterview with a Vampire finally makes the journey to our green lands. As a reminder, the series began in the 1910s in New Orleans alongside Louis, boss of a flourishing business who crosses paths with the enigmatic Lestat, a Frenchman who will take him with him on the roads of the ‘immortality.
