Good news for users of Gemini Advanced, they can now generate and share videos thanks to Veo 2.. The latest version of the Video generator by Google IA had caused a sensation at the end of 2024, when the Californian firm had presented this response to Sora, the competitor tool of Openai. The problem was that, as often with AI new products, Europe did not appear on the front line. Unless you go through a diverted solution like the VPN, it was not possible to access the last video tool by Google IA from France.
The Mountain View firm rectifies the shot on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, by opening access to its cutting -edge video model to its Gemini Advanced subscribers. You have to go through Google’s paid offer to create videos with Gemini.
Veo 2 in Gemini, how does it work?
Google explains that Veo 2 represents a major advance in the video generation, but we should not expect 4K and the long sequences that Sundar Pichai evoked during the announcement. In the Gemini interface, it is now possible to select the VEO 2 model from the drop -down list of models and then describe the scene as faithfully as possible. Gemini will then generate an eight -second video clip in 720p, in landscape format and downloadable in MP4.
There is a monthly limit to the number of videos that can be created and Google will notify the user as this limit approaches. Regarding the prompt, the American giant indicates that it is enough to write a textual description of what the user wishes to see. “Whether it is a news, a visual concept or a specific scene (…) Gemini will give life to your ideas. The more detailed your description, the more you master the final video. This opens a world of fun creative possibilities, giving free rein to your imagination to imagine unreal combinations, explore various visual styles, from fantasy realism, or quickly tell short visual ideas ”indicates Google.

In addition to the creation process, the videos produced by VEO 2 want to be easy to share. Just press a sharing button to quickly publish sequences on platforms like Tiktok and YouTube Shorts.
Give your images to life with Whisk Animate (but not yet in France)
In parallel, Google makes another promising announcement regarding Whisk. After a launch in December, this experimental tool (accessible via Google Labs) is now called Whisk Animate and allows you to generate images from texts or other images.
This novelty also concerns Google One AI Premium subscribers (which includes users of Gemini Advanced) and also uses the power of Veo 2. Whisk Animat presents itself as a simple and fast solution to give movement and life to static visual creations, but the novelty is not yet available in France. The French branch does not give more precision on this subject.

While the creation of images and videos using the AI always arouse controversy, Google claims to have taken measures to supervise the use of these tools. The company indicates that all videos create with Veo 2 will wear invisible digital marking called Synthid, indicating that they have been generated by an AI.
