The announcement was made during the Games Awards which took place last night. After Vessel of Hatred which introduced us to the jungles of Nahantu and the Sacresprit class, Blizzard is back with an extension which promises to be even more ambitious.
The Paladin finally arrives
It was the class most requested by the community since the game’s launch. Blizzard heard players’ prayers and is bringing back this iconic figure from Diablo 2. The Paladin from Lord of Hatred will not be just a simple nostalgic copy and paste. We are talking about a real renaissance with modern mechanics that stick to the universe of Diablo 4.
The class is built around three pillars: an invincible rampart with its shield, a divine armory which invokes sacred weapons reinforced by Light, and the role of sacred intermediary between the Heavens and Sanctuary. Players will be able to choose from four different oaths (Juggernaut, Fanatic, Judge and Disciple) each offering a radically different playstyle. The Discipleship Oath will even allow for a spectacular angelic transformation.
Iconic auras and skills like Blessed Hammer, Divine Shield and Zeal are making a comeback, but revisited with brand new animations. And the icing on the cake: holy damage returns in force to give the class a unique identity.
Skovos, the new land to conquer
Exit the lush jungles, direction will dig. This ancestral region, cradle of the first Sanctuary civilization and former home of Lilith and Inarius, promises to be a real playground. Between volcanic coasts, forests swept by storms and flooded ruins, the exploration promises to be rich.
Each expedition will allow you to discover new towns, dungeons and creatures. Ruled by the oracle and the queen of the Amazons, Skovos mixes forgotten culture and very real threats.
Revolutionized gaming systems
Lord of Hatred promises one of the most complete evolutions of the game since its launch. Skill trees have been completely overhauled for all eight classes, with new specific variants and expanded level caps. The Horadric Cube is making a comebackaccompanied by a new talisman system that unlocks powerful set bonuses.
The loot also benefits from a new filter to more easily locate the desired equipment. Improved crafting systems encourage experimentation, while high-level customization becomes truly defining for each class.
The endgame redesigned from the ground up
Once the campaign is completed, players will discover a new high-level experience. War plans allow you to create your own progression path by selecting your favorite activities and layering strategic modifiers. The more you progress, the more interesting the rewards become.
Resounding hatred represents the ultimate test : a relentless succession of demonic hordes designed to test even the most robust setups. Three editions are available for pre-order. Appointment April 28, 2026 for this new crusade in Sanctuary.
