Two weeks after its more than successful launch, it is already time for Pokémon TCG Pocket to take stock of its future. As fun as it is, this digital version of the Pokémon trading card game will still have to prove itself in the long term. For now, the development teams are keeping the hype alive with the regular deployment of events designed for players and collectors. Remember to take advantage of the fights against Lokhlass while there is still time in order to collect promotional boosters. Trainers have until November 18 at 6:59 a.m. (French time) to take part. As for online battles, the badge event will end on November 28 at 6:59 a.m. as well.
But perhaps you are one of the players who struggles to build competitive decks due to a lack of cards. Although it is possible to prepare powerful combos without rare Pokémon, it is clear that it is not easy to complete your collection. At the rate of two boosters per day – or even three with the premium pass – the doubles keep coming and the binder is struggling to fill up. With the physical TCG, players can resort to trading, whether it is a need for play or collection. On TCG Pocketplayers are stuck with what they open… but not for long. The developers have just announced the launch window for this long-awaited feature, and it’s coming very soon.
A gradual deployment
Good news: card trading on Pokémon TCG Pocket will be available next January. The application intends to get the year 2025 off to a flying start but is not rushing. In a press release shared on the game networks, we learn that exchanges will only concern a portion of the cards at launch before the selection is gradually extended, without further precision. Since the developers also confirm that new boosters will arrive before the end of the year, it is not impossible that the exchanges only concern the cards of Genetic Power.

Hi everyone! Today, I’d like to share a brief statement by the #PokemonTCGPocket Team about more immediate updates coming to the game in the next few months.

In order to motivate players to open more and more boosters, limiting exchanges to past extensions would not be surprising. The only way to obtain the current meta cards would therefore be to obtain them from the source and not through the generosity of other trainers. It is also not impossible that Pokémon TCG Pocket sets up a resource or time system in order to avoid abuse via exchanges. Or, only cards of the same rarity can be exchanged. Now that the release of this feature is fast approaching, further details should emerge soon. We will update this article to share with you the procedure to follow when it is official.
